Bartolo "Buddy" Valastro, Jr. – known to millions as The Cake Boss on TLC's hit reality show Cake Boss – is the take-charge face of Hoboken, NJ-based Carlo's City Hall Bake Shop. A fourth-generation master baker, Valastro is a true hands-on boss: He knows how to do every job required to run his family's successful business, including his first assignment at age 12: scrubbing the toilet.
In this entertaining and energetic keynote, Valastro will share his experiences in being part of a 100-year-old family business – and in working side-by-side with his colorful Italian family. He'll relate how he sets and meets goals (such as getting the first Carlo's wedding cake into the pages of a bridal magazine), how he took a leadership role in the business at age 17 after his father's death, and how he realized that in any business, your personality is one of the most important things you can offer clients.
From Valastro's hard-won insights, attendees will leave with actionable ideas to ramp up their own businesses, including planning for long-term business success, finding their staff's strengths, and understanding why it's vital to always be "on" – even when they think no one's watching.
