The ASI Show Orlando Starts 2006 on a High Note
The industry’s first show of the year makes magic happen in the land of Disney

TREVOSE, PA — (January 24, 2006) — The sixth annual ASI Show Orlando, January 3-5, at the Orange County Convention Center, delivered nearly 4,500 distributors and over 900 suppliers, making the first industry show of the year a true success.

Launching the 2006 selling season, distributors were pleased with the variety of products and top suppliers found on the show floor. Tom and Beth Robinson from The Vernon Company, asi/351700, said "The ASI Show Orlando is one of the high points of our year! We find this opportunity invaluable because we get to meet and share with other distributors, touch base with the suppliers we work with and meet so many interesting people. The line-up of exhibitors was super — there was such a range of product ideas!” The Vernon Company held their “Winter Getaway” sales meeting at The ASI Show Orlando (including over 50 Vernon salespeople) and will be holding their National Sales Meeting including over 125 Vernon sales representatives at The ASI Show Las Vegas 2007.

Shary Patton of ASA Promotions, asi/113890, also expressed her excitement for the show with, "I thought the quality and quantity of exhibitors was great! I loved the free education workshops and I also enjoyed the receptions at the end of each day — what a great way to unwind and network! The ASI Show Orlando is my favorite show of the year and I'm looking forward to seeing you again in 2007!" Jacquelyn Bolton, of Welcome Home America, asi/356603, added, "What a great variety of suppliers! I definitely found new and interesting products at the show to bring home to my clients!"

Suppliers were also very pleased with this year’s ASI Show Orlando. Rob Robinson of Bullet Line, asi/42424, noted, “Booth traffic was great. It always is here. I mean this is the premiere first show of the year, especially for Bullet Line since we are a Southeast company. However, I do have to say, there were people at the show from all over the country, which was great.” Tim Stewart from Kustom Kaps, asi/83790, added, “The show was very good! Booth traffic was excellent. We had two people who called our office and placed orders before the first day of the show was actually done.” Larry Sitten from PENCOA, asi/77040, agreed by saying, “It was an excellent show! We scanned a lot of distributors. And, the quality of attendees was great.”

According to ASI Show President Matthew Cohn, there was tremendous excitement and buzz at the show. “I’ve heard nothing but positive comments from suppliers about the quality and quantity of attendance,” commented Cohn. “Additionally, attendees were very happy with the variety and quality of exhibitors, as well as the education sessions and the Supplier Secrets and Jane Applegate keynotes.”

Cohn went on to say, “After each show, I always welcome comments from participants. And since returning from Orlando, I have heard a number of great success stories that have resulted directly from the Orlando show.”

Over 1,300 Attend Education Conference
The Education Conference, with numerous free sessions sponsored by Fields Manufacturing, asi/54100, provided training and seminars to hundreds of suppliers and distributors throughout the day on Tuesday, January 3. Highlights included two full-day seminars. The first by David Blaise, “Skyrocket Your Sales and Profits: The Fast Track to Success for New Distributors” and the second was a free program entitled, “Top Buyers of Promotional Products & How to Sell to Them.” This popular workshop featured distributor market specialists who shared their secrets to booming sales in 10 multi-billion-dollar markets. Another well-received session was Rick Barrera’s Lunch & Learn Presentation, sponsored by SHEPENCO/Shelbyville Pencil, asi/86850, “Over Promise & Over Deliver: The Secrets of Unshakable Customer Loyalty.”

On Wednesday and Thursday, there were additional opportunities for learning. One-hour Power Sessions offered industry education on the show floor. And, morning keynotes featured free breakfast and business-building tips. The new Supplier Secrets Keynote: “How Suppliers’ Newest Products and Selling Ideas Can Help Make You More Money”, January 4, featured mini-presentations by 16 well-known suppliers who shared their best products and sales ideas. Tony Tops of Haycor Designs, asi/222117, thought the presentations were impressive — “Spectacular actually. I learned great new ideas for 2006 and was able to have my salespeople see them and get really excited for the New Year.” On Thursday, January 5, Jane Applegate presented “201 Great Ideas for Your Small Business.”

Fun Networking in Orlando
Over 1,300 party-goers enjoyed the Block Party at Universal CityWalk, which featured dinner, open bar, fun networking and great entertainment! Party-goers enjoyed live reggae and Caribbean flair in the open air gazebo at Bob Marley’s, the Mardi Gras atmosphere at Pat O’Brien’s, the R&B and soul flavor of CityJazz and the kick-up-their-heels dance hits at the Groove. Mike Foley from Foley Enterprises, asi/195776, was like most attendees in sharing his unbridled excitement for the Block Party, “The ASI Show sure knows how to put on a party!”

Networking events were held every day of the show and included the Disney’s Keys to the Kingdom Tour, Counselor Distributor Choice Awards, Celebrate Florida Reception, Closing Celebration and Cirque du Soleil’s show La Nuba.
