ASI Show Announces Acquisition of Discovery Traveling Shows  

(March 24, 2005) — The ASI Show announces the acquisition of 17 weeks of Discovery Traveling Shows.“We are pleased to announce that we have reached an agreement with Discovery Marketing Associates to acquire the following Discovery Traveling Shows: the 12 National Market Weeks, the West Coast Business Gift & Promotional Products Showcase, four Client-Distributor Shows and the Discovery name,” said Matthew Cohn, ASI Show President.

The transaction will be effective on June 24, 2005. The 2006 ASI Discovery Showcase schedule will be available in July.

For 2006, Show management already has plans to strengthen the Discovery Shows through increased marketing and reducing the number of shows by 20 to make them more effective for suppliers and distributors. “After analyzing the various Discovery shows, we plan to eliminate the four weeks of Client-Distributor Shows this Fall and will focus on growing the remaining Discovery Shows and a consolidated, major show in the Northeast,” added Mary Upton, Vice President of Tradeshow Operations.

The ASI Show announced in a separate release, the launch of The ASI Show Philadelphia, May 24-25, 2005. This will be a Preview of the full-scale ASI Show planned for May 23-25, 2006. More details are available on The ASI Show Web site, http://www.asishow.com.

Paul Jenne, the Founder of Discover Marketing, will work on the ASI Discovery Showcase as part of The ASI Show team for at least the next three years. “Discovery Shows started as a family-owned business and I’m glad that they will continue to be part of a family-owned business with ASI,” said Jenne. “By focusing on the needs of the ASI member family, distributors and suppliers can look forward to an even more enhanced show experience to help them grow their businesses.
